On a tree-lined stretch of Warren Street in Radcliffeborough, the Simons-McIntosh House has stood since 1854. It's one of the neighborhood's landmark homes, and the Preservation Society of Charleston has honored it three times: a Carolopolis Award in 1992, a Pro Merito in 2023, and a historic plaque in 2024. Take the full video tour below, then read on for the details.
A true Charleston single house
From the street, 66 Warren shows all the Greek Revival hallmarks: dentiled cornicework, an entry framed by sidelights and a transom, and double piazzas running the length of the house. Inside, original heart pine floors, ceilings over 10 feet, and four working fireplaces carry the history through every room.
Room to live and entertain
The chef's kitchen is built around a Wolf range and backed by a full butler's pantry. French doors open onto the deck and the private walled garden, which is rare downtown. Every bedroom has its own en-suite bath, and the primary suite adds a walk-in closet and private laundry.
Together, the main house and guest house offer 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and about 4,708 square feet.
The guest house at 66½
The original kitchen house now has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and its own entrance. It works well for visiting guests, a home office, additional rental income property, or a studio. Off-street parking, another downtown rarity, completes the property.
